Mickey is a second generation florist. His father had flower shops in Allentown, Bethlehem, Emmaus, and Kutztown. He has worked in this industry for the past 34 years. Mickey attended Kutztown State College for Art. He also spent time in Chicago at American Floral Art School. But, most of his experience comes from his on the job training. He has worked at some of the most prestigious floral shops in the Lehigh Valley. Over the past 18 years as owner of Michael Thomas Floral Design Studio he has, along with his staff, turned Michael Thomas into a design studio. Our determination to use only the freshest flowers and most creative designs has resulted in a widely recognized reputation for quality and beauty. Mickey was elected to serve as President of the Lehigh Valley Floral Association. He is looking forward to leading this group through June of 2010.

Cathy has been in the floral industry for over 25 years. Vocational training, attainment of Journeyman status with the PA. Department of Labor & Industry, Penn State Master Gardener Program & countless design workshops & seminars have afforded her a diverse educational background. In addition to working at various floral shops in the Lehigh Valley, she also developed & taught an adult education program in floral design that was sanctioned by the Lehigh Valley Florist Association.
Cathy has been employed by Michael Thomas Floral Design Studio for the past 17 years. As manager, buyer & designer, she strives for customer satisfaction, the freshest & highest quality she can obtain from the world market, as well as creative & personalized design styles for our clientele. Cathy is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Valley Floral Association.

Emily has grown up in the floral business. Considering that her father is Michael Brown, owner of Michael Thomas Floral Design Studio, she may well have seniority over the rest of the staff at age 21. She is working a great deal during the summer months and lends her capable hands on weekends during the school year. As a valuable staff member she assists on wedding set-ups and preparations, as well as with daily operations in the flower shop. Emily is a junior at Lafayette College where she is studying Biology. As an accomplished "World Traveler," Emily has been to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and in 20 of the United States. This versatile and talented young woman has the spirit and determination to make a difference.

Lynn joined us in June of 2006 from Forever Flowers, and brings with her six years of helping area customers with their floral needs. Her extensive secretarial background ensures that every order will be entered correctly, with attention to detail. She and her husband, Hal (a part-time driver for Michael Thomas) are enjoying semi-retirement and spending time with children and grandchildren.

Shani resides in North Whitehall Township with her husband Darrin and their 3 children. She attended the University of Pittsburgh, and is in her 15th year of assisting small companies with their accounting and book needs. Shani loves beautiful flowers and working with people. Now she can do both. She says "this job allows me to have a good job with the flexibility to still have time with my family."
